The frontman of NYC rock trio Escape Key, Matt Hannah, moved to Minneapolis and changed direction completely with his new solo album "Let the lonely fade".
The album is recorded in his bedroom with a set of acoustic driven songs in the Americana / folk rock genre, we get 9 original tracks and a cover of "Colorado girl" by Townes Van Zandt.
This is the kind of music that most often reflect honesty and autobiographical lyrics, something that can be moving if the artist manages to reach out and touches the heart of the listener.
I think Matt Hannah succeed in songs like "Long way to drive" and "Midnight hurt" but he doesn´t go all the way in other songs like "Lonesome tune" or "Run river run".
"Let the lonely fade" is a bit uneven I´m afraid.
For fans of Ryan Adams, Ted Russell Kamp, Bob Dylan
