Cats In Space announce debut LP Too many gods

They are calling it ‘Power Pop Rock’, and their aim is to unashamedly take you back to the heady days of the 1970s when bands like Queen, ELO, 10cc, Supertramp & Sweet, ruled the airwaves.
Yes, ‘Cats in Space’ are retro, yet they have a sound that has been unheard for many years, in fact probably since those American underground pop masters ‘Jellyfish’. Founding ‘cat’ Greg Hart has recruited a wealth of experience to join him in his musical spaceship destined to land here on Earth as we speak. The debut long player is entitled ‘TOO MANY GODS’, is out in October 2015 and consists of a collection of commercial hit songs all played out and produced in an impeccable manner.

Fourplay : Simple Lies , Kill Ritual , Flaws, Celldweller

Simple Lies - Let it kill (2015) Down the memory lane at Sunset strip
Depending on who you ask, you don´t need much to live a good life. Some prefer to seek the meaning in the bottle, while some likes to work and make a lot of money. Others like me, just want to spend most of the time with the family. If you ask the Italian band Simple Lies, they might just settle for girls and rocknroll. That first Motley Crue album that made them wanna start a band and be just like their idols.
Simple Lies released their debut "No time to waste" in 2012 and this fall, their 2nd album "Let it kill" is unleashed. But to me, they sound like a 2nd division Hardcore Superstar. However, if you´re a fan of bands like Crash Diet, Crazy Lixx and Hardcore Superstar. You might wanna give them a chance.

Kill Ritual - Karma machine (2015) Like another day at the job
Bay Area thrashers Kill Ritual are back with a new singer and a new album, their previous effort "The eyes of Medusa" really took the band to a whole new level with heavier riffs, bigger production and stronger choruses.
So it is with some disappointment I have to admit their 3rd album "Karma machine" don´t reach the same heights as "The eyes of Medusa". The new album is solid, no doubt and their new frontman David Reed Watson (Rage of Angels) is good too. But I prefer the former singer Josh Gibson who left the band before the recordings of "Karma machine".
The band shines in the massive "Rise" and the 7 minute long "Camera´s eye" , they´re good at this but many songs soundalike so it´s hard to be all too excited.
For fans of Anthrax and Savatage.

Flaws - Harsh words through tangled wires (2014) From the ashes of In Case Of Fire
The other day I was listening to the Northern Irish band In Case Of Fire and their much likeable album "Align the planets" from 2009. I knew the band had split up but I had no idea frontman Steve Robinson and drummer Thomas Camblin from In Case Of Fire had started a new band Flaws.
So I was really excited to hear about their first EP "Harsh words through tangled wires" which has traces of their former band but also early era Muse and even Manic Street Preachers.
I definitely want to hear more new music from this band, this is good stuff.

Celldweller - End of an empire Chapter 01-04 (2015) An electronic metal eargasm
Just like the 2012 album "Wish upon a blackstar", Klayton decided to release the new album in chapters to be followed by a LP with all the new songs included on the same record and perhaps some other additions as well.
"End of an empire" is released in 4 chapters, Time, Love, Dreams and Death, including 8 new tracks with vocals, several remixes and instrumental versions of the original songs plus the pieces Faktion 1-10.
"End of an empire" is the 3rd vocal album from Klayton´s Celldweller and a safe buy for fans of his previous albums, so why not make your own compilation with the tracks "End of an empire", "Lost in time", "Down to Earth", "Heart on", "Good l_ck, Yo_´re F_cked", "Just like you", "New elysium" and "Precious one". You won´t regret it.

Let´s start with.....
Strange Talk are the flourishing melodies heard behind rooftop conversations amongst strangers. They’re also moonlighting as the anthem to your club and festival night. That’s the kind of beguiling juxtaposition that the Melbourne duo, comprised of Stephen Docker and Gerard Sidhu bring to your summer soundtrack.

The duo recently returned with their staggering new track, "Something's Bout To Change," which premiered exclusively on A.V. Club and were quick to follow with, "When It Feels So Good," via Blackbook. Now, the band announce a Fall headlining across North America which is set to kick off mid-October, in conjunction with their new EP, due October 16 via Wind-up Records.

G.O.T.H set to release self titled debut album

GOTH was formed in 2005, in the sunny city of Lisbon, by Ivan Prim.
His influences come from different genres, like Glam, Metal, 80’s Rock till today’s Goth Rock.
In 2006, after hearing Kate singing, Ivan decided to add a feminine voice to this project, creating a constant harmony between a lyric and a lower voice.

G.O.T.H´s self titled album will be out on July 24, listen to album tracks at:

Fourplay : 1 Echo 1 , Le Folli Arie , Pinkroom , Chicago

1 Echo 1 - Collide (2015) Halfway up the ladder
Pennsylvania based 1 Echo 1 collaborated with John Moyer of Disturbed on their first 4 track EP in 2014, it was produced by Moyer and mixed by Kelly Gray (Queensryche).
Now the band returns with the new 5 track EP "Collide" that sounds like a typical contemporary hard rock record, they blend post grunge, industrial rock and alternative metal.
Imagine a mix between Nickelback, Orgy and Evans Blue and you´ll get "Collide". The production is a computerized affair, more suitable for mp3s than an expensive hi-fi system.
The songs are ok except for "Point of no return" that is actually really good, I like the arrangement.
If Breaking Benjamin are size XL, then 1 Echo 1 are size medium.

Le Folli Arie - Le Folli Arie (2015) Artists with a vision but no structure to get there
Le Folli Arie are a prog/fusion/pop band from Milano, Italy. They are influenced by artists in the progrock genre like PFM, Yes, Porcupine Tree and Genesis but also other genres like pop, jazz and heavy metal.
Formed in 2012, the process of making the band sound whole and unique required 2 years of labor-intensive work. It´s a varied album where the 13 tracks go from funk to adult pop and fusion to classic rock. But the sound is just too shattered.
Their self titled debut album is produced by the band´s singer/guitarist Simone Corazzari who also wrote or co-wrote all the tracks on the album. The lyrics are both in Italian and English but the major part is in their native language. The last 3 tracks are English versions of the songs "Salto nel buio" (Shot in the dark), "Il giorno mio migliore" (A better tomorrow) and "Non e facile" (It´s not easy).
The music bring thoughts to Umberto Tozzi meets John Miles Band with traces of Italian jazzrock band Nova, but not as good.
They need to focus.

Pinkroom - Unloved toy (2014) Musician´s music from Warsaw
I would never consider myself as an expert when it comes to the progrock/alternative rock scene in Poland, I only know of a few bands such as Division By Zero, Riverside, Satellite, Coma, Qube and now also Pinkroom.
The latter band belong in the same category as avant-garde artists like King Crimson, Dredg, Primus and Serj Tankian. Pinkroom´s 2nd album "Unloved toy" is a concept album about how it is as a man living in the world today.
The music contains semi-twisted chords and spooky sounds, quite suitable for a new Hitchcock film if he was still alive. You could say this band aren´t afraid of performing a crossover of psychedelic prog and experimental rock. Cool.
The album might be complex but if you have an open mind, you will embrace it.
Best track : "Enslaved".

Chicago - The studio albums 1979-2008 (2015) Impeccable tones from the windy city
In 2012, Rhino Records released Vol.1 with the first ten albums from Chicago between 1969-1978.This summer we finally get to lay our hands on the albums between 1979-2008 where the band changed direction from their big band rock to more polished westcoast/AOR.
The 10 cd box set starts with the commercial flops Chicago 13 and Chicago XIV before they recruited Bill Champlin and teamed up with producer David Foster on the successful albums Chicago 16, 17 and 18.
Original frontman Peter Cetera left the band to pursue a solo career after Chicago 17 and he was replaced by Jason Scheff, son of Elvis Presley´s bassplayer Jerry Scheff.
Even though the early Chicago albums is considered to be their classic era, this box set features some of their biggest hits from a band that in total sold more than 100 million records.
Not only does it include the underrated Stone of Sisyphus, but also the amazing comeback album Chicago XXX and the superb FIVE Chicago 16 to Twenty 1. A wetdream for westcoast fans.
This edition also contains 21 bonus tracks which are 9 more than the 2010 re-issues, but they are mostly alternative versions of songs on the original albums.
Highlights:
Reruns, Loser with a broken heart (Chicago 13)
Song for you, Hold on (Chicago XIV)
What you´re missing, Hard to say I´m sorry (Chicago 16)
Stay the night, You´re the inspiration (Chicago 17)
Niagara falls, If she would have been faithful (Chicago 18)
Look away,Victorious (Chicago 19)
If it were you, What does it take (Twenty 1)
Dream a little dream, Sing Sing Sing (Night and day)
Feel, King of what might have been (XXX)
Bigger than Elvis, The Pull (Stone of Sisyphus)

Sons of Texas post new video Blameshift

There is nothing subtle about Texas. There is a reason why we use the term “Texas-sized” to describe anything in life that’s exaggeratedly large, from posteriors, to bong hits, to jugs of beer. This boldness, naturally, extends to the Lone Star’s musical exports, loud n’ proud legendary artists like ZZ Top, Pantera, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among many others. Now, firmly in that cocksure lineage, is a mighty bluesy metal band from McAllen, Texas aptly named, Sons Of Texas.

The young quintet’s debut, Baptized In The Rio Grande—produced by the iconic Josh Wilbur (Lamb Of God, Crowbar, Chiodos, Hatebreed)—is a Texas-sized portion of power metal grooves, dazzling guitar solos, strip joint/tailgate sing-along choruses, and soulfully charred vocal melodies. It took Wilbur 20 seconds of a YouTube clip to recognize this young band truly inherited the gonads of its Lone Star forefathers and sign on to work with the quintet.

Watch the official video "Blameshift" here:
