Young Rising Sons formed in 2010 when Red Bank, New Jersey natives
guitarist Dylan Scott, bassist Julian Dimagiba, and drummer Steve
Patrick, who had played together in various bands and configurations
since high school, caught an acoustic set by singer, songwriter, and
guitarist Andy Tongren (who grew up in Ohio) in a New York City bar, and
realizing that this was the voice they needed in their band, asked him
to join. The chemistry in the new quartet was immediate, and Young
Rising Sons, influenced by classic pop acts like the Beatles and the
Temptations, and by the melodic hard rock of Tom Petty, Bruce
Springsteen, Green Day, and others, developed a bright, modern hard pop
sound that won them fans whenever they played.
