Have you seen the sci-fi film Gravity with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock from 2013 where they are drifting around in space? Well, if I didn´t know better I would believe Ali Ferguson´s new album "A sequence of moments" is the soundtrack to that film.
This is your ticket to an imaginary space travel, Ali is a master of taking the listener out into the unknown with his ambient music.
I really enjoyed his first album "The windmill and the stars" from 2011 and the follow up is just as good, if you´re a fan of Pink Floyd´s "Shine on you crazy diamond" I know you´re gonna love "A sequence of moments".
More often now, I have noticed that journalists are discussing the to-be-or-not-to-be album format of releasing music in this digital age of streaming. Some are saying that we´ll come down to just releasing songs instead of albums, to me that might just be the most stupid thing coming from humans since they thought planet Earth was flat.
Ali Ferguson´s music should only be enjoyed in the LP format. Any other idea belong in the dumpster.
Highlights : The Lost Satellites, Out of the dark, All in the winds
Recommended if you like Camel, David Gilmour, Alan Parsons Project
