The metalcore scene in Australia has become one of the fastest growing genres with bands like Polaris, Dream On Dreamer, I Killed The Prom Queen, Vesselborn, Parkway Drive, Northlane, In Hearts Wake, Capture The Crown and Buried in Verona.
The Canberra based Whitefall sure has a place in this fine company, they are a tight unit where the riffs come at ya like Thor with his hammer.
Their new release "Origins" has a majestic intro which makes me believe that these guys could pull off a really great instrumental track, as a matter of fact, they had plans of recording 6 songs for this EP where one is an instrumental piece but studio time was running out and the song didn´t make it onto the EP.
Another strong moment on "Origins" is the single "Casuality" that features vocals from Dan Tompkins of TesseracT. It´s quite impressive that they recorded this EP in only 3 days, not many bands do that these days.
Highlights : Serenity, Casuality
Recommended if you like Memphis May Fire, Lyzanxia, Miss May I
