Glam rocker Mickey James aim to put rock back into the charts

Born and raised in the shadow of New York City, naturally Micky had a taste for the theatrical and aspired to become an artist and performer from a young age. In his music and personal style, Micky James explores a sound and aesthetic that is nostalgic of a bygone era in rock n roll music, while still maintaining a contemporary pop ambition. Micky's unique vocals are reminiscent of great character voices such as David Bowie and Julian Casablancas, alluding to the dark, mysterious, and romantic qualities that are so distinct to those artists. While Micky's flamboyant fashions evoke the glamour and swagger of past rock icons, his work is both equal parts style and substance.

Anna Rose to release soul-baring new album The Light Between

Fast-rising singer and guitarist, Anna Rose, has confirmed the October 4th release of her the deeply honest and soulful new album The Light Between. Produced by GRAMMY-nominated Paul Moak, the album features ten original songs written and recorded in Nashville, and follows Rose's praised 2016 EP Strays In The Cut.

Rose has released a new song from the album "Broken is Beautiful" and will embark on a series of tour dates this fall including festivals in Ohio and Tennessee plus stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis and more with critically acclaimed Americana singers Paul Cauthen and Austin Plaine.

"The most powerful people in the world are the ones who are broken beyond repair and make the choice to get back up again and continue to fight," says Rose about the new single. "This song is for them."

Previous singles "Nobody Knows I'm Here," first heard in the NBC hit This Is Us, as well as "Sucker Puncher" and "The Chariot" were released earlier this year to wide acclaim via White Pony/AWAL.

Rose, whose father is legendary composer Alan Menken (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid), has long been known for her adept guitar playing and hard-driving dirty blues but for this album she's rediscovered her Americana roots, channeling some of the great female singers of our time—from Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt to Stevie Nicks and Patty Griffin.

"Throughout a time of deep turmoil and sadness, I found myself in Nashville a lot, writing not just for myself but for other artists and for film and television. That city slowly began to really feel like home. Working there, making art there… really helped me heal a lot of the wounds that I had collected along the way in my life,” shares Rose. “I’m eternally grateful to the city of Nashville for opening their arms to me. As a bit of an outsider, it gave me a place where I felt like I belonged for the first time really…ever."

Dark Station is headed down in the dark

In the spring of 2018, five Southern California musicians came together, leaving their respective projects behind, to form a new band. A band with the ability to seamlessly transition from crushingly heavy riffs to unforgettably haunting melodies and lyrics. With inspiration drawing from the top late 90's and early 00's rock bands, there's a certain familiarity to the music that's refreshing and yet evolved into what can only be described as Dark Station. Set to release in 2019, the debut album "Down in The Dark" is poised to cement the band's name as a commendable force in the rock world. With rock on the rise, Dark Station has risen to the challenge of aiding in rock's revival. This is the new age. This is Dark Station.
"Down in the dark" is out October 25th and available for pre-order on iTunes, featuring a direct download of the latest single "New age". Check out the official video of another new song "Villain".

The fun never ends for Barns Courtney

Hailed by Rolling Stone as a “stomping, swaggering rock & roll balancing act teetering between blinding light and total darkness,” Barns Courtney releases his newest album, 404, on September 6 by Capitol Records. Barns wrote and produced the 10-song collection with synth wiz and longtime friend Sam Battle. All in all, 404 is a commentary on his journey from awe struck naivety to the dark realization of adulthood. Barns Courtney has already surpassed a half billion cumulative streams globally and is currently touring with Elle King. In between headline dates, he’s opened for everyone from The Who and Blur to Ed Sheeran and The Wombats, prompting The Dallas Observer to note, “At the rate he's been performing, it won’t be long until he’s burned his name into the memory of anyone and everyone who bought a ticket to see someone different.”

Synthwave act Mega Drive releases 199XAD on October 4

In 2014, Mega Drive released the visionary 198XAD, a darkly cybernetic piece of audio horror that quickly became a cult classic. The recording found spots on lists of the best dark synthwave albums and earned respect from critics, fans, and creators alike. Not content to rest on past successes, Mega Drive proceeded to push into new and increasingly diverse ideas on subsequent releases. For five years, 198XAD stood as a unique and unrivaled sci-fi creation at the origin point of synthwave’s dark side.

Now, Mega Drive has returned to the dystopian world of his most acclaimed work with a direct sequel, 199XAD.

Fans will immediately be drawn back into the densely woven, detailed environment of the original, as Mega Drive displays an impressive versatility across 12 exceptional tracks. Each one offers a glimpse into a different corner of Mega Drive’s inspired vision of the retrofuture, as 199XAD expertly shifts from the searing artillery fire of "Gun Hag" to patiently atmospheric and cinematic pieces like "Terror Eyes."

The result will thrill long-time Mega Drive fans and revive memories of 199XAD’s epic predecessor while those who are new to the artist will find the latest album to be the perfect jumping-on point. 199XAD promises to be one of Mega Drive’s most highly regarded and talked about recordings yet.

Thousand Below set to release Gone In Your Wake in October

Thousand Below walk a fine, almost illusory line. Deftly balancing atmospheric and airy instrumentation, thoughtful emotionality, and just the right amount of hard-hitting hypnosis, the Southern California quintet—James DeBerg [vocals], Devin Chance [guitar], Josh Thomas [guitar], Josh Billimoria [bass], and Garrett Halvax [drums]—descend into the dreamy depths of loss, love, and life reflected in art.
The San Diego based post-hardcore band will release their brand new studio album Gone In Your Wake on October 11, featuring the single Chemical.

Fury Weekend and the escape from Neon city

Fury Weekend's long-awaited full-length album is here! Escape From Neon City delivers everything fans have loved about past releases while introducing greater song variety and thrilling new vocal collaborations. Each of the album's 12 original tracks contain intense, often dark compositions packed with electrifying guitar riffs, cinematic synths, and Fury Weekend's unmistakable production edge. From the heavily retro '80s vibes of "Oblivion City" to the dark synthpop stylings of "Savior" featuring Josh Money and "Euphoria" with Scandroid, Escape From Neon City is a synthwave tour de force.

Fury Weekend's music combines the '80s nostalgia of synthwave with a hard-hitting, futuristic atmosphere backed by a signature guitar sound. The artist has established one of the largest followings in synthwave through a number of past EPs, though Escape From Neon City marks a significant milestone in Fury Weekend's career, delivering a wealth of great music in one place and introducing vocal tracks to the music for the first time ever.
Escape From Neon City drops October 11.
